How did you get started in fashion and then eventually designing your own line? 

With a lot of naivety, but with an thirst i couldn't quench in any other field.  I didn't go to school for fashion and had barely worked in the business before I decided to put together a small collection of menswear and do a show in a parking garage in downtown manhattan. Luckily, I had plenty of equally naive and ambitious pals around me to help out.

So far in your entire business career, what would you count as your biggest success to date? 

Well, still being in business.  Or actually, being in business, independently, having grown organically without any false public relations facades.  Also, I feel really lucky and proud of the staff that I work with everyday.

What's your favorite social media platform and why? 

Lately, its Instagram.  No fuss, no pesky words. (Follow RachelComey!)

When was the last time you were inspired?

Well, we are in our Spring design period right now, so I am feeling inspired.... right now, from encountering some interesting leathers, metals, and shiny coated cottons.

Advice for young aspiring designers?

Perseverance.
