With the craziness of New York Fashion Week behind us, we can now clear our heads and take a look at what came from it. One thing we’re super excited about is the Burkman Bros new series called Shop-in-Shop. Launched in celebration of NYFW, the Shop-in-Shop series is an exclusive launch of the duo’s spring 2011 products. This series will include retail build-outs at some of the hottest stores around. In San Francisco, the Shop-in-Shop will be featured exclusively at Welcome Stranger. It will also be featured at Odin New York, Bloomingdales 59th Street, and Ron Herman in Los Angeles.
Doug and Ben Burkman started off as young entrepreneurs in Canada with a variety of business ventures to fund their wardrobes. After perfecting their skills as designers for Gap Inc., it became pretty clear to everyone that they would soon venture out and establish their own label.
With an honest feel, the Burkman Bros created a line that is cool and masculine, natural and wearable. Taking inspiration from their far travels, the Burkman brothers have created a line that takes a utilitarian look at classic American menswear with a subtle and simple infuse of their worldly travels. Called “utilitarian, effortless, and classic” by Out Magazine and “preppy yet relaxed – an American in Calcutta, if you will” by Valet Magazine, the Burkman brothers have made a name for themselves creating timeless menswear, making men feel comfortable and masculine, and sticking to their “if I wouldn’t wear it, I wouldn’t make it” attitude.
